Restaurant Dive Trendline on Loyalty & Rewards Strategy
7 Brew announced it will launch its first mobile app on August 12, with a simultaneous overhaul of its loyalty program. The new app supports points tracking, ahead ordering, and saving favorite drinks, designed to enhance customer stickiness through digital channels and support the brand's transition from a regional chain to a national coffee brand.

7 Brew debuts app, overhauls loyalty system
The new app could aid the coffee brand’s growth by driving sales and raising the quality and volume of consumer data it collects.
7 Brew is launching its mobile app on Aug. 12, creating a new ordering channel and customer engagement platform for the rapidly-growing coffee chain, according to a Wednesday press release.
The app lets consumers track rewards points, order ahead and save favorite orders for easy repeats, among other functions.
This move could help supercharge 7 Brew’s growth by improving its store-level sales and the volume and quality of data it collects on consumer preferences.
Digital channels like apps are a crucial tool for QSRs — particularly coffee chains — to boost loyalty and engagement and maintain a modern brand identity.
Starbucks Rewards, for example, counts 35.8 million 90-day active members in the U.S. The platform has been an important part of the brand’s turnaround.
At Dutch Bros, mobile ordering played a key role in doubling brand awareness in 18 months, and helped cement the chain as a routine stop for many consumers.
7 Brew’s explosive growth has put it in contact with millions of consumers and transformed the drive-thru-oriented chain from a small regional player to an emergent national power in three years. The chain went from 24 stores at the start of 2023 to 604 at the start of 2026, according to its franchise disclosure document.
The brand currently has upwards of 800 stores, according to its press release, and projects a total of 447 openings this year, which would carry it across the 1,000-unit threshold, per the FDD. As of the end of 2025, 7 Brew had signed development agreements for 3,100 future stores.
Stronger customer engagement could help extend that growth and improve unit economics.
7 Brew’s operating model is based primarily on the drive-thru — only two of its stores lacked the channel, per the FDD. The chain plans to integrate the app into its order flow, with app orders “prepared fresh upon arrival at the stand, ensuring guests enjoy their favorite drink exactly at intended peak freshness,” per the press release.
The app will also make it easy for consumers to customize beverages — Chief Marketing Officer Nick Chavez said it was possible to order up to 20,000 drink combinations through the app.
7 Brew’s app also “unlocks our secret menu for the first time,” Chavez said.
The brand will leverage its loyalty system to promote downloads of the app, with a chance for members to win 100,000 rewards points, roughly enough for a free drink every week for two years.
The chain’s rewards system currently grants 100 points per visit and a free drink of any size for 1,000 points. Going forward, members can stockpile larger numbers of points and redeem them for branded merchandise, like letterman jackets or a 7 Brew themed mini-fridge.
