New Benchmark Report by Interface Systems Reveals What Really Drives Restaurant Security Incidents | Restaurant Dive

Interface Systems released the 2026 Restaurant Safety Benchmark Report on July 15, 2026. The study covers 1.1 million surveillance events across 9,392 restaurant locations in the United States, representing 78 restaurant brands. The report shows that loiterers and panhandlers (49.8%) and disruptive behavior (21.5%) together account for over 70% of high-priority events; 3% of locations generated 81% of high-priority events; and 98.4% of events were resolved through remote interactive monitoring without police intervention.
